Crews Battle 2-Alarm Structure Fire In Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A structure fire broke out near north Minneapolis Saturday morning, according to fire officials.

According to the Minneapolis Fire Department, crews responded to the report of a structure fire shortly after 7 a.m. in the 1500 block of West Broadway.

Upon their arrival, crews saw smoke coming from the rear of a three-story, mixed-use building.

The fire department said crews were able to force access into the building and extinguish the fire on the first floor.

A second alarm was called for additional firefighters around 7:15 a.m. due to the size of the building, but the fire was contained to the first floor.

One person was found inside the building and checked for smoke inhalation. They were unharmed.
