Crash With UPS Semi Injures Stearns County Man

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A Stearns County man was injured after he rear-ended a UPS semi-tractor trailer with his car.

Gerard Hansen, 34, of Avon, Minnesota, was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash.

Both vehicles were headed eastbound on County Road 75, near St. Joseph.

The UPS semi was trying to stop at the red light at County Road 3.

Hansen was unable to stop in time and collided with the tractor-trailer.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office, the St. Joseph Police Department, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota DNR and the St. Joseph Fire and Rescue Department all responded to the crash.
