Coup D'Etat, Parlour Up For 'Best New Bar Midwest'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's no secret that Minneapolis has a thriving bar scene with some pretty talented mixologists at the helm, but it seems the rest of the country is finally taking note.

Two Minneapolis watering holes have been named finalists for Best New Bars Midwest in a new Food and Wine poll.

Uptown's Coup d'État and the North Loop's Parlour are both up for the coveted title, which will be decided by readers' votes.

Food and Wine makes note of Coup d'État's large open space, consisting of several dining rooms and seating areas, while giving a nod to its menu of reinvented cocktails.

The magazine highlights Parlour's inventive specialty cocktails, giving extra props for their use of homemade syrups and elixirs.

The voting for Best New Bars Midwest is open now. A winner will be announced on Oct. 2.
