Karinne Tarshish and Dan Klamet picked a unique location for their photo shoot, choosing their local Costco as the backdrop for their pictures.

"We didn't really want the traditional photos. We just kind of felt a little awkward about that," Karinne said.

Dan felt that the traditional route would be a little-too mushy for their tastes.

The laidback couple thought what better place to showcase their love than a store they visit often.

In the St. Louis Park Costco, the couple and their photographer, Emmerlee Sherman with Emmerlee Photography, snapped away in empty aisles.

"We just kind of wanted to do something funny for our friends and family," Karinne said.

Their pictures were not the perfectly-lit portraits typically seen in engagement photos. Instead, they showcase a real couple capturing love's clichés.

There's a picture of Karinne holding a pork shoulder with the couple looking longingly at their "meat baby," and there are pictures of the couple looking lovingly at each other as they shop through the store aisles.

"My personal favorite is the one where we have our hands over the cheesecake," Karinne said. "Every engagement photo shoot has the picture of the woman's hand, or whatever, on the guy's hand while showing off the ring."

Pictures meant for friends and family quickly got worldwide attention. Karinne and Dan have received calls from dozens of media outlets.

"I didn't quite expect this response," Karinne said.

While their photo shoot may capture the mundaneness of marriage, it also allowed them to check one item off that week's to-do list.

"We bought stuff at Costco while we were at Costco," Dan said.

The happy couple will get married in October. They said they do plan to stick to the traditional wedding pictures on their big day.
