MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- State officials announced Tuesday that Minnesota's financial situation has considerably weakened in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, as the state now faces a deficit of $2.426 billion for the current biennium. That's a nearly $4 billion change since a surplus was projected in February.
Here are the latest headlines in the COVID-19 pandemic:
- 10:18 p.m.: Minneapolis Park Board commissioners approve a resolution with an amendment allowing the superintendent authority to spend $250,000 to extend parkway closures to allow for pedestrians and social distancing until June 7, or longer if the $250,000 budget allows.
- 8:46 p.m.: Renewal By Andersen is temporarily closing its Cottage Grove plant after two workers tested positive for COVID-19.
- 6:53 p.m.: North Memorial Hospital opens drive-thru testing site for COVID-19 tomorrow.
- 5:04 p.m.: Some Minneapolis firefighters quarantine due to possible COVID case.
