MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) --Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz announced Wednesday the "phased plan" for bars, restaurants and other businesses to reopen next month. Under the plan, restaurants will be able to host outdoor dining starting June 1, provided that social distancing in enforced. Salons will also be able to open at the start of the month, given that they reduce capacity to 25% and have staff wear personal protective equipment.

Here are the latest updates in the COVID-19 pandemic:

• 8:12 p.m.: VIVO restaurant in Apple Valley announces they are permanently closed.
• 7:44 p.m.: St. Paul Firefighters delivered 400 meals today to the health care professionals at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul Wednesday.
• 7:18 p.m.: Target USA Cup announced today the tournament will be canceled -- it's the largest youth soccer tournament in the Western Hemisphere held each year at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota.
• 6:51 p.m.: Nurses gathered outside of United Hospital in St. Paul protesting what they say is a lack of PPE.
• 6:00 p.m.: Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey spoke at a press conference today calling on federal partners to step up for small businesses and renters.
• 3:00 p.m.: Gov. Walz announces outdoor dining allowed to return at restaurants, salons to reopen June 1.
• 2:00 p.m.: Wisconsin health officials say there are now 13,413 cases of COVID-19. The death toll has risen to 481.
• 12:34 p.m.: The movie theater at St. Anthony Main announced this week their intention to reopen for business Friday, June 5 with COVID-19 safety precautions in place.
• 12:15 p.m.: After 11 years of operation, the Burger Jones in Minneapolis will permanently close its doors. The Burnsville location, however, will live on.
• 11:00 a.m.: MDH reports an additional 645 cases of COVID-19 and 29 more deaths.
• 9:20 a.m.: The Minnesota Timberwolves say they are working to reopen their practice facility at Mayo Clinic Square for voluntary player workouts, starting on Thursday.
• 8:45 a.m.: Target reports that its online sales more than doubled during the first quarter. The Minneapolis-based retailer also reported an 11.3% increase in revenue.
• 8:21 a.m.: The latest food establishment to close permanently due to the COVID-19 crisis is Moose & Sadie's, a staple of Minneapolis' North Loop neighborhood for nearly three decades.
• 5:28 a.m.: Unlike President Donald Trump, Vice President Mike Pence says he is not taking the disputed drug hydroxychloroquine.
• 5:23 a.m.: The Congressional Budget Office is forecasting high unemployment for years to come.
