Construction, Marathon Closes Numerous Roads Across The Metro

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Some major roads across the metro are experiencing closures and detours this weekend.

Southbound Interstate 35W will be closed from Highway 280 in Roseville, Minnesota to 4th Street SE in Minneapolis.

This part of the interstate closed Friday evening and is expected to open again at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6.

Interstate 494 is also experiencing some closures this weekend.

Southbound I-494 will be reduced to one lane between County Road 6 and Schmidt Lake Road.

All lanes are expected to reopen by 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5.

Additionally, northbound I-494 between Interstate 394 and the Interstate 94/694 interchange will also be reduced to a single lane.

These lanes are expected to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6.

The Twin Cities Marathon takes place Sunday, Oct. 5, so drivers should expect addition detours in downtown St. Paul.
