Young Boy Hit By Car Near Columbia Heights

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A young boy is hospitalized after he was hit by a car in Columbia Heights at around 3:15 p.m. Thursday.

Minneapolis Police say the boy was with his older brother at 37th Avenue trying to cross University Avenue when he was hit by a vehicle heading south. Officials say the boy was injured and hospitalized. Police didn't say how old the boy was, but witnesses say he seemed to be about 3 or 4 years old.

Officers are investigating on the scene and say the driver is cooperating with authorities.
