Cold Spring Man Says His $1 M Raffle Win Was A 'Long Time Coming'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Cold Spring, Minn., man and restaurant owner came forward Friday to claim a $1 million Minnesota raffle prize, state lottery officials say.

Carlos Vega Vega stopped by the Roseville lottery headquarters with his wife and son to claim the big Minnesota Millionaire Raffle prize. He had bought the winning ticket at the JM Speedstop on 2nd South Street South in Waite Park, Minn.

According to officials, Vega Vega said his win was a "long time coming," as he's played the raffle for four years.

"Hopefully this won't be the last time I'm here," he reportedly said, leaving lottery headquarters.

Vega Vega added that he plans to pay bills with his winnings as he recently became the owner of the El Torito Mexican Market in Waite Park.

The Minnesota Millionaire Raffle is a lotto game with two $1 million prizes. The other big winner was James Mattila of Blackduck, Minn.
