Coaches Pick Gopher Hockey To Finish Second In Big Ten

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A preseason coaches poll released Monday shows that the University of Minnesota men's hockey team is predicted to finish second in the Big Ten this season.

The Gophers are the two-time defending champions of the Big Ten in the regular season. Minnesota won the Big Ten Tournament last season to earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The league's coaches picked the Gophers to finish second behind Michigan this season.

Gophers forwards Justin Kloos and Hudson Fasching were also named to the league's Preseason Players to Watch list.

Minnesota enters the season having won four straight regular season titles and four straight NCAA Tournament appearances. The stretch includes two trips to the Frozen Four.
