2 Shot In Circle Pines, Suspect Found With Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wounds

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two people are hospitalized with gunshot wounds after an incident in Circle Pines Saturday morning.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff's Office, police arrived at a residence on the 8800 block of Lexington Avenue where they found a man and a woman -- both 35 years old -- who had been shot. Police say the suspect was a 54-year-old man who was the woman's ex-boyfriend.

Later that morning, police found the suspect in Aurelia Park in Blaine, suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center, where authorities say he is not expected to survive his injuries.

Police say there is no continuing danger to the public. The Centennial Lakes Police Department, Blaine Police Department and Anoka County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
