CHS Awards $2.5M Grant To NDSU Agriculture Program

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The charitable arm of Minnesota-based CHS Inc. is awarding a $2.5 million grant to support a North Dakota State University agriculture program.

The CHS Foundation gift will help train students in risk management and trading. Agribusiness and applied economics professor William Wilson has been named the first director of the endowed chair.

The programs funded by the donation are meant to prepare students in the commodity marketing business and upgrade the university's producer outreach and extension programs.

CHS executive Linda Tank says students who are interested in becoming global commodities traders will benefit by having a curriculum specially tailored to their education.

CHS Inc. is a global agribusiness company owned my farmers, ranchers and cooperatives across the country.
