1 Dead, 1 Hospitalized In Chisago County Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is dead and another is in serious condition after a one-car crash in Chisago County Monday morning.

According to the Chisago County Sheriff's Office, just before 9:20 a.m. fire and EMS officials responded to a call of a single-car crash near 310th Street and Teal Avenue in Shafer Township.

Upon arrival, crews learned a pick-up truck had hit a tree head on.

The driver of the truck, 64-year-old 'Michael' Ming-Nan Lin, of Lindstrom, was semi-conscious and bleeding from his leg. He had been wearing his seat belt.

The passenger, 55-year-old 'Margaret' Ah Choo Lim, also of Lindstrom, was wedged between the dashboard on the floor of the passenger side. She had not been wearing a seat belt.

Lin and Lim were extracted from the truck and were transported to Regions Hospital. Lin is in serious condition but is expected to survive. Lim died during the transport.

The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
