Children's Cancer Research Fund Declares Wednesday 'Kick Cancer's Butt Day'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's time to kick butt!

The Children's Cancer Research Fund has officially announced Wednesday, June 17 as "Kick Cancer's Butt Day."

One way we can do that is by donating to the Great Cycle Challenge.

The Great Cycle Challenge is a biking fundraiser that helps raise money to fight childhood cancer. Riders all over the country are encouraged to set a personal goal and raise pledges to go toward cancer research if and when they meet their goal.

In honor of "Kick Cancer's Butt Day" an anonymous donor came forward and pledged to match all Great Cycle Challenge donates received on Wednesday, June 17 to the value of $100,000.

Jim Leighton and Mindy Dykes from the Children's Cancer Research Fund joined WCCO to talk about the pledge and "Kick Cancer's Butt Day."
