Chase Ends With Motorcycle Hitting Iowa Trooper

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a police chase ended in Cedar Falls when a motorcycle ran into the back of an Iowa State Patrol cruiser.

The incident began around 9 p.m. Saturday when a motorcyclist didn't stop as patrol officers tried to pull him over for an expired registration. Authorities say the chase started on U.S. Highway 218 in Waterloo and reached speeds of more than 100 mph. It ended a few minutes later in Cedar Falls, when the motorcycle hit the back of another patrol car.

The man was taken to a hospital. Charges are pending.
