Charges: St. Paul Man Refused To Leave Bar, Threatened Officer's Family

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A St. Paul man is facing charges in Dakota County for threatening to break into a police officer's home and hurt the officer's family.

Alex Hershkovitz, 24, is charged with threats of violence with intent to terrorize in connection with a Sept. 20 incident in Burnsville.

According to the criminal complaint, officers arrived at Shooters Bar on a disturbance call just before 2 a.m. that Tuesday. There, officers found Hershkovitz, who was refusing to leave the bar and acting "confrontational" to officers, refusing to identify himself or follow commands. Once officers determined who Hershkovitz was, they realized he had an outstanding warrant in Hennepin County.

Hershkovitz then reportedly threatened one officer, saying he would break into the officer's home and put a gun in the officer's mouth. Hershkovitz asked the officer who he wanted to go first: himself, his kids or his "baby momma."

If convicted, Hershkovitz will face up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
