Charges: Man, 20, Stole Electric Scooter, Several Oxygen Tanks

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An Anoka man is facing burglary charges after he allegedly stole an electric scooter and several oxygen tanks from a medical supply store, Coon Rapids Police said.

Matthew Lee Wright-Mark, 20, faces one count of burglary in the second degree and one count of burglary in the third degree.

According to the criminal complaint, on Nov. 22 Coon Rapids police responded to a report of a burglary at Liberty Oxygen and Medical Supply, located in the 11600 block of Round Lake Boulevard Northwest.

An employee who had closed the store the evening before at 4:30 p.m. told police when she came in to open at 9:50 a.m. she noticed the lower south window had been smashed.

Upon arrival, police noticed the window, along with pry marks in the door jam and foot prints in the snow.

Police said investigation showed an electric scooter was missing along with several oxygen tanks.

According to police, on Nov. 27 officers responded to a report of a burglary at King Kong Hobbies where they arrested Wright-Mark.

Police said that Wright-Mark admitted to the burglary at Liberty Oxygen and Medical supply. He admitted to stealing the motorized scooter and the oxygen tanks.

Wright-Mark told police he had brought the scooter to a friend's parent's house to have the friend help Wright-Mark modify it.

Police said a search of the parent's home revealed the scooter and oxygen tanks.

Police said the electric scooter was valued at $1,495.00, the oxygen tanks were work $125 each and the damage to the window totaled $331.13.
