Charges: 2 Hastings Men Prostituted Girl For Marijuana

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two Hastings men are accused of prostituting an underage girl as a form of payment in a drug deal, according to charges filed in Dakota County Court.

William Dale Willis, 25, and Daniel Rashaun Gopie, 27, were each charged with two felony counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with the Sept. 21 incident.

According to the charges, a girl between 13 and 15 years old was at the home of a man who wanted to get marijuana. The man, identified as CRB, contacted Willis, who went to the man's home along with Gopie. Willis and CRB made a deal that marijuana would be exchanged for a sexual act with the girl.

All three men went to Willis's home, where there was a couch inside the garage. It was there that the girl allegedly performed sexual acts on Gopie and on Willis. Both men also allegedly had sex with the girl, the complaint states.

Gopie drove the girl back to the home of CRB, who wanted marijuana. Gope told him to call Willis, and the complaint states Willis said he didn't have marijuana but did have Xanax.

Gopie later told police he was at CRB's home and was aware of a conversation between Willis and the man about marijuana. He admitted the girl went with him and Willis to Willis's house, but denied any sexual activity. Gopie also admitted to driving the girl back to CRB's house.

If convicted, both men face up to 30 years in prison and $60,000 in fines.
