Cat Video Fest Returning To CHS Field This Summer

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Those still mourning the end of the Walker Art Center's immensely-popular Internet Cat Video Festival can take comfort in the announcement that a copy cat event is slated for this summer.

The St. Paul Saints and myTalk 107.1 said Thursday that cat videos are returning to CHS Field on Aug. 9. The St. Paul ballpark is the venue where the last Internet Cat Video Festival took place in 2015, drawing more than 13,000 feline fans to an evening of music, food and quirky cat videos.

Unlike the Walker event, this cat-focused festival will take video submissions from locals who think their cat deserves a spot in the limelight. Videos can be sent directly to catfestmn.com.

Tickets for the August festival will be $10 for general admission and $75 for VIP. They go on sale on Tuesday.

In March, the Walker Art Center announced that it was moving on from the Internet Cat Video Festival after organizing it for four years. However, the museum said then that it hoped others would host a similar event.
