As Philando Is Laid To Rest, Protesters March Near Fairgrounds

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Twin Cities man shot and killed by police is in his final resting place Saturday.

Loved ones gathered at Ronald L. Jones Funeral Chapels in St. Louis, Missouri Saturday morning to remember Philando Castile.

He was born in St. Louis and still has family in the area.

After the memorial service, there was a funeral procession to Calvary Cemetery, where Castile was buried.

A group gathered in Minnesota to stand in solidarity with Castile's family and demand justice for him and others killed by police.

They met at the site where Castile was shot and killed nearly two months ago near the Minnesota State Fairgrounds in Falcon Heights.

St. Paul police say the group caused the temporary closure of Snelling Avenue at West Piece Butler Route for about an hour Saturday afternoon.
