Card Replacements After Target Breach Cost Est. $750K
MINNEPOLIS (WCCO) -- The massive Target data breach is having a large impact on not just the company's customers, but is also costing Minnesota's credit unions hundreds of thousands of dollars.
The Minnesota Credit Union Network says $750,000 has been lost.
That's the cost of replacing credit and debit cards compromised in the three-week breach, starting back in November.
Information of up to 110 million Target shoppers was believed to have been taken.
However, it appears many people don't seem to care. A new poll found that 82 percent of respondents said they're shopping at Target as often as they did before the breach, while 11 percent said they've been shopping less at Target.
Five percent said they won't be shopping at Target ever again.
