SUV Hits St. Paul Restaurant Tongue In Cheek

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police say one person is hurt after an SUV plowed through the front door of a restaurant in St. Paul.

It happened this after at Tongue in Cheek on Payne Avenue on the East Side of the city.

St. Paul Police say two vehicles were involved.

One vehicle, a silver sedan, was waiting for people to cross the street before making a left-hand turn. When the sedan went to turn, an SUV coming the opposite direction had to swerve out of the way, running right into the restaurant.

Police say a person was hit in the process, but their injuries are minor.

Both drivers were given tickets.

Police say the damage to the building is significant.
