Community Leaders, Musicians Promote Peace At Capitol

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Community members and local musicians came together on Sunday to promote positivity and healing after a violent week.

People gathered on the lawn at the State Capitol in St. Paul Sunday afternoon. Many brought picnic lunches and blankets to relax on the grass and listen to music.

Organizers say simply having a place spend time together is important right now.

"Everyone's so divided, I mean, everyone doesn't have a place right now where they can go and just be together. That's it, it's that simple," Isaac Peterson said. "Yeah, just be together."

Another healing concert is happening Sunday night. Minnesota musicians will perform there as well. That concert is at 8 p.m. at Bedlam Lowertown in St. Paul.
