MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A well-deserved warm up is headed to Minnesota with 40s and even 50s in the forecast.

While this winter doesn't even begin to compare to last year, February 2015 was still nearly 10 degrees below average making it the 19th coldest on record.

As for snowfall, the 2014-2015 winter is down 16.4 inches from average.

The mild air is expected to stick around through mid-March, where the average temperatures sit in the 40s.

Barring any major changes, Thursday morning may have been the last subzero day for the Twin Cities.

The last subzero morning for 2014 was on March 3.
