Local Chapter Of CAIR Expresses Solidarity With Belgians After Attacks

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota chapter of the nation's largest civil liberties organization for Muslims said that it stands in solidarity with the people of Brussels following deadly attacks Tuesday in the European capitol that killed at least 36 people and injured more than 100 others.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MN) released a statement saying the attacks in Belgium, for which the Islamic State has since claimed responsibility, are "antithetical to the ideals of civilized society."

The group also called for the media to devote equal attention to attacks outside of western Europe, such as the recent ISIS bombing in Turkey that killed two Americans.
