Buyers Found, Dorset Restaurants To Be Rebuilt

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The northwestern town of Dorset will regain its title as "Restaurant Capitol of the World."

A couple who worked at and met at Companeros will rebuild the restaurants destroyed by fire last year.

Lightning struck the Dorset House in September of 2014.

The fire spread to Companeros next door, and both were destroyed.

Owners Rick and Laura Kempnich, at retirement age, decided they couldn't rebuild, and have been trying to sell the land in hopes someone else will.

Beth and Levi Durgin are those buyers.

The couple plans to keep the restaurant concepts the same, and the Kempich's will still be involved.

They hope to be open next spring.
