Burnsville Officers Not Charged In Shooting Death; Body Cam Footage Released
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Three Burnsville police officers were cleared of criminal charges Tuesday in connection to the shooting death of a Chaska man in a McDonald's parking lot on St. Patrick's Day.
The Dakota County Sheriff's Office says a grand jury declined to charge officers Taylor Jacobs, John Mott and Maksim Yakovlev for their roles in the death of 38-year-old Map Kong.
Police were called to the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant on the morning of March 17 on a report of a man bouncing up and down and his car while holding what appeared to be a knife.
The attorney's office says the officers broke Kong's car window to use an electroshock weapon on him after he ignored repeated demands to drop what was described as a "large dagger-style knife."

The electroshock weapon reportedly did not subdue Kong, who then exited his vehicle. The three officers each shot Kong, killing him.
Kong's toxicology report showed that he had amphetamine and methamphetamine in his system at the time of his death.
