Bull Gets Loose, Roams Grove City Streets

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 1,200-pound Black Angus bull was on the loose on the streets of Grove City Thursday night.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office received a report of a loose animal just after 7 p.m. near 7th Street and Maple Lane.

The bull got loose from a farm off County State Aid Highway 11, owned by 83-year-old Lester Johnson. His sons were attempting to round up the bull when it escaped.

Deputies and the Minnesota State Patrol helped the Johnsons get the bull out of town, containing it just west of the city limits. Two veterinarians from the South 71 Vet Clinic were able to tranquilize the bull, which was then loaded into Johnson's cattle trailer.

No one was hurt during the incident.
