'Bridges Of Madison County' Musical Opens At Orpheum

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Broadway musical version of "The Bridges of Madison County" is now at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis.

The story is about an Iowa housewife's brief love affair with a traveling photographer. The popular Robert James Waller book came out more than 20 years ago and stayed on the New York Times bestseller list for three years.

It was also made into a movie starring Meryl Streep, who earned an Academy Award nomination for her performance, and Clint Eastwood, who also directed it.

Elizabeth Stanley, who plays Francesca, took some time to talk with WCCO.com about what makes "Bridges" a challenging, but timeless story.

"The Bridges of Madison County" will be at the Orpheum for only a short time. There are evening shows through Sunday, and there are also matinees on Saturday and Sunday.

Tickets start at $39. Click here for more information.
