Boy, 10, Who Died In ATV Accident ID'd

CHATFIELD, Minn. (AP/WCCO) — Authorities have released the name of a 10-year-old boy who died after an ATV accident in southern Minnesota.

The accident happened at about 11 a.m. Saturday in Fillmore County, south Pilot Mound Township, which is near Chatfield.

On Sunday, authorities identified the boy as Hunter Wayne Bergo of Chatfield, a fourth grader at Lanesboro Elementary School.

Sheriff Tom Kaase said the family remembers Hunter for his politeness, kindness and generosity. Funeral arrangements are pending.

A candlelight vigil is slated for Sunday night in the Sylvan Park in Lanesboro.

Few details about the accident have been released. Emergency responders arrived to find the accident involved a single ATV, and the Hunter was the only victim. He died at the scene.
