Body Recovered From River In La Crosse

LA CROSSE, Wis. (AP) -- Police say the body of a man has been recovered from the Mississippi River in downtown La Crosse.

First responders were called to the river about 8 a.m. Friday where the body was found.

La Crosse Police Sgt. Randy Rank said it appears the body may have been in the river awhile. Rank says they are working with the Winona County Sheriff's Department to identify the person.
