Body Pulled From Lake Of The Isles ID'd

Update: The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says Barlow died of an apparent freshwater drowning.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials have identified the name of the individual who died Monday after breaking through the ice on the channel between Lake Calhoun and Lake of the Isles.

Nicholas Ray Barlow, 62, was found dead in the water, the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office said.

Barlow had no permanent address, and it remains unclear exactly when he broke through the ice.

He was found Monday after a jacket was reported frozen on the ice.

The medical examiner's office says Barlow's cause and manner of death remain under investigation.
