Body Of Duluth Student, 22, Found In Creek

DULUTH, Minn. (WCCO) — Authorities say alcohol was a factor in the death of a University of Minnesota Duluth student this weekend.

Police recovered the body of 22-year-old Kyle Noble, of Baudette, in Chester Creek. Investigators say it appears he slipped and fell about 75 feet from a trail above the creek.

"It's been a problem for years since I've lived here," Mike Hampton said. "People falling, people jumping. College kids with too much to drink. You see all of the firetrucks on the bridge, and you say, 'Oh my gosh, not again.'"

Campus officials at UMD said Noble was a senior majoring in mechanical engineering.
