Body Pulled From Mississippi River ID'd As Missing U Of M Employee

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A body pulled from the Mississippi River last Saturday has been identified as the missing University of Minnesota employee, Rinzin Dorjee.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the body as 55-year-old Dorjee.

According to the U of M police Dorjee was reported missing by his co-worker on campus late Thursday evening.

Police believed Dorjee had been injured on the job as they found blood near his last known location. Surveillance video also showed Dorjee leaving the location alone and walking toward Southeast Fulton and Ontario streets.

Just after 11 p.m. Saturday, U of M police reported a body being pulled from the Mississippi River, just 100 yards south of the Short Line Bridge.

The body was later identified as Dorjee.

The Medical Examiner said the cause of the death is pending further investigation.
