Sheriff: Body Of Man Recovered From Mississippi River

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The body of an adult male has been pulled from the Mississippi River Wednesday morning near Lock & Dam #1., according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office says its deputies, Ramsey County Sheriff's deputies, Minneapolis police officers and University of Minnesota police officers responded at 6:27 a.m. to a call of a possible body in the water near the Ford Parkway Bridge.

A rescue boat was sent out on the river and at about 9 a.m., a man's body was pulled from the river.

The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office is investigating.

The name and cause of death of the man will be released at a later time by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.
