Body Found In Waite Park Quarry Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials have identified the body found floating over the weekend in a Waite Park quarry.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said visitors in Quarry Park found the body of 30-year-old Philip Royal Miller, of St. Cloud, on Sunday morning.

Authorities pulled the body from the quarry and the remains were sent to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

The cause of death was listed as fresh water drowning. The manner of death: suicide.

Miller had been reported missing this summer and believed to taken his life in the park, the sheriff's office said.

The quarry where his body was found had been partially drained in a search for him.
