Bob Dylan Remains Silent On Nobel Prize Win

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After being awarded the Nobel prize in literature last week, Bob Dylan doesn't seem too interested in acknowledging he won the prestigious award.

The Swedish Academy, which awards the various Nobel prizes, told The Guardian that it's given up trying to reach the Minnesota-born bard.

"Right now we are doing nothing. I have called and sent emails to his closest collaborator and received very friendly replies. For now, that is certainly enough," the academy's permanent secretary, Sara Danius, reportedly said.

Dylan was awarded the Nobel prize on Thursday. That night, he played a concert in Las Vegas, not mentioning the accolade.

Meanwhile, the Swedish Academy is confident that the 75-year-old musician will show up for the award ceremony in Stockholm.

"I am not at all worried," Danius told the newspaper. "I think he will show up."

Dylan, who was born in Duluth as Robert Zimmerman, was the first musician to receive the famous literary prize.
