Blue Jackets Assign Center Sean Collins To AHL Falcons

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned center Sean Collins to the American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons a day before they return to action against the Minnesota Wild.

Blue Jackets General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen made the announcement Sunday.

Collins was most recently recalled on December 30. He collected two assists with two penalty minutes in eight games with Columbus this season. He also recorded 10-9-19 and 14 penalty minutes with an even plus/minus rating in 28 games with Springfield.

Kekalinen was Columbus' ninth pick, 187th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft.

The native of Saskatchewan, Canada, has registered 0-3-3, eight penalty minutes and is -1 in 19 career NHL games. He also has recorded 38-58-96, 72 penalty minutes and is +27 in 167 career AHL games.
