Bloomington Mom Scores Half-Off Tuition For Daughter With Half-Court Shot

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's been quite the week for basketball in Minnesota. No, we're not talking the Timberwolves.

Last week, a high school basketball player hit a full-court shot to win a game at the buzzer in Austin. This week, a Bloomington mom sunk a half-court shot to win a discount on tuition for her daughter.

Angela Ramey was chosen to attempt a half-court shot to receive half-off tuition at Bethany Academy for her daughter.

Ramey shoots the ball granny style.

At first it seems as though she air balls, but after it hits the floor it bounces in to the basket.

Ramey, who had turned away, looks back in shock as the crowd cheers.

The shot occurred during last Friday's "Bethany Loves Bloomington" event where 235 students helped packed meals to take to the hungry in Bloomington and surrounding communities.

Ramey's daughter will receive half-off her tuition to Bethany Academy for the following year.
