Bloomington Man Charged In Crash That Killed Richfield Woman

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A 25-year-old Bloomington man accused of drunken driving has been charged with causing a fatal crash in Burnsville.

Neftali Ramirez was charged Tuesday with vehicular homicide in the crash that killed 34-year-old Erin Randall of Richfield.

Officers responded around 2 a.m. Sunday to the crash on Highway 13 in Burnsville. Randall was found unresponsive in her vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

State Patrol investigators determined Ramirez was speeding when he struck Randall's car, sending both vehicles down an embankment.

Authorities say Ramirez told police that he had been drinking at a bar before the accident. A preliminary breath test revealed his blood alcohol content was 0.25, three times the legal limit.

Ramirez is being held on $150,000 bail. It wasn't immediately known if he has an attorney yet.
