Bloomington Gas Station Stabbing Suspect Arrested

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Bloomington Police have arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with the stabbing of a gas station employee Sunday.

Pharoh Atteff Merritt of Bloomington was arrested Wednesday morning on suspicion of stabbing a 22-year-old worker at the BP gas station at 7801 Portland Ave. on Sunday night, according to police.

The victim, who was stabbed in the upper torso after an alleged argument with Merritt, provided a description of him while en route to the hospital.

Police say someone who had seen an image of the suspect from surveillance video on local news spotted him at an Eden Prairie gas station Tuesday.

Officers located Merritt in Eden Prairie at about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday. He is expected to face second-degree assault charges.
