Big Marine Beach Closed For Swimmer's Itch Treatment
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The swimming beach at Big Marine will be closed for a few days this week as officials treat it for swimmer's itch.
Washington County's Big Marine Park and Reserve will treat the beach from noon on Wednesday, June 24 to noon on Friday, June 26.
According to Washington County, roughly 30 to 40 percent of people are sensitive to swimmer's itch. To avoid getting it, shower and towel off completely after getting out of the lake.
The beach will be open prior to June 24 and will reopen on June 26.
Other Washington County Parks swimming beaches will be open.
