Bicyclist Hospitalized After Being Run Over By Tractor

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 51-year-old Rochester man was air lifted to a hospital Sunday after being hit by a tractor, north of Pine Island, Minn.

Bruce Wohlfeil was on his bicycle on 180th Avenue in Roscoe Township around 12:45 p.m. when a caravan of four tractors came through cutting corn stalks in a nearby field.

According to authorities, the first tractor hit Wohlfeil's bicycle and stopped. Wohlfeil was then run over by a second tractor that was pulling a trailer catching the corn stalk clippings.

Police say Wohlfeil was conscious when crews arrived and was stabilized on the scene. He was later airlifted to St. Mary's in Rochester for further treatment.
