Bicyclist, 16, Injured After Crash With School Bus

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 16-year-old boy suffered non-life threatening injuries after colliding with a school bus Tuesday morning in St. Cloud.

St. Cloud Police responded to the area of 12th Street and 30th Ave. North in St. Cloud at about 8:06 a.m. on a report of a school bus crashing with a bicyclist. When officers arrived, the teenage boy had been traveling westbound on the sidewalk on 12th Street North when the school bus, being driven by a 67-year-old Cushing man, turned southbound onto 30th Avenue from 12th Street. The bicyclist ran into the side of the bus, authorities said.

The boy was taken to St. Cloud Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The bus had 34 students on board at the time of the accident, and none was hurt.

No charges are pending in the accident.
