Woman Arrested In Connection With Drug Overdose At Costco

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Maplewood woman was arrested Thursday in connection with an apparent drug overdose that occurred last month in a Costco parking lot.

Beverly Nicole Burrell, 30, is being held at Hennepin County Jail under probably cause for third degree murder and additional offenses including possession and sale of heroin.

On Monday, April 11, Eden Prairie police responded to a call about a person slumped over in a car at the Costco on Technology Drive. When police arrived, the individual was dead from an apparent narcotics overdose. The individual was later identified as 29-year-old Nick Peter Petrick of New Prague.

The Eden Prairie Police Department, South West Hennepin Drug Task Force and South West Metro Drug Task Force investigated Petrick's death and made the arrest Thursday. The Hennepin County Attorney's Office filed charges on Friday.
