Benefit Planned For Pizza Driver Hurt In Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A benefit has been planned for the pizza delivery driver badly hurt in a Minneapolis shooting in late July.

Andrew Gryskiewicz had just finished his final delivery in the early morning hours of July 23 when somebody approached his car and shot him in the shoulder. The bullet hit his heart.

Gryskiewicz is a delivery driver for Dulano's Pizza in Uptown. He spent days in intensive care fighting for his life and this week, he was released from the hospital.

There will be a benefit Thursday night at Dulano's Pizza in conjunction with their First Thursday Night Bike event. Funds raised will go to help him cover medical expenses as a result of the shooting.

Police have not yet said if Gryskiewicz was robbed, although his money was reported missing.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call (612) 692-8477.

Gryskiewicz does not have personal health insurance, but a GoFundMe page has been set up to help cover his medical expenses.
