Benefit Held For Fmr. Mpls. Police Spokesman In The Fight of His Life

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A benefit is being held Monday for a Minneapolis cop who's in the fight of his life.

Jesse Garcia is battling Stage 4 cancer that started in his stomach and has spread to his liver and the bones around his chest cavity. Garcia served as the spokesman for the Minneapolis Police Department for a period of time, so he is well known to many in Twin Cities media.

Monday's benefit features food and drink as well as silent auction items.  It runs from 1 – 7 p.m. at Jimmy's Event Center in Vadnais Heights.
