Benefit Concert For Barway Collins' Mother Set For Sunday

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A benefit concert has been scheduled for the mother of a 10-year-old boy who was found dead in the Mississippi River last month.

There will be a concert for Louise Karluah, the mother of Barway Collins, at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Cross of Glory Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Center. There will be a $10 admission fee with the proceeds to going to a fund to help construct a house to fulfill a dream Barway had for his mother, officials said. The doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with the concert scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

The performers include the Shiloh Temple Church Choir, Min. Evelyn Marsh & Team, Pastor Johnny Russell, Min. Tracy Harris, the group Total Praise and Min. Olivia Seward.

Barway Collins was laid to rest earlier this month. Barway vanished from Crystal one day after school in April, only to later be found dead in the Mississippi River. His father, Pierre Collins, is accused of murder in the boy's death.
