BCA Investigates Fatal Fire In SW Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding a house fire in Lyon County that killed two people Thursday morning.

The sheriff's office says crews responded to the fire just after 9 a.m. on the 1600 block of 180th Avenue in Balaton. The home was fully engulfed when they arrived.

Two bodies were found after the fire was extinguished. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office is working to identify the bodies and determine the exact causes of their deaths.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting with the investigation.
