Barrio Bringing Tacos And Tequila To Target Field

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new restaurant is under construction at Target Field, and it's set to spice up the traditional baseball fare.

Just inside gate six, officials were thrilled Tuesday to present the Latin flavors of Barrio to Twins fans.

"We've partnered with the great local establishment Barrio to bring some delicious tacos and tequilas to Target Field here," said Twins Spokesperson Chris Isles.

Ryan Burnet, the president of Barrio Restaurant Group, said that as soon as he got the call about the opportunity over the winter, it was a done deal.

The new Barrio bar will be ready for customers on April 13, which is opening day at Target Field. It'll be replacing a clubhouse in left field.

Isles said Barrio will be a great spot for fans to socialize and take in the game.

The restaurant will also have portable offerings, for those who want to just grab a taco and go back to their seats.

Barrio has several restaurants around the Twin Cities. The one in downtown Minneapolis opened in 2008.
